Zambales Rep. Milagros ‘Mitos’ Magsaysay and other congressmen asks President Benigno Aquino III to replace Customs Commissioner Angelito Alvarez.
According to Rep. Magsaysay, Alvarez should be held responsible for the 2000 container vans missing worth Php3billion in taxes at the Port Area of Manila.
Mitos also added that the agency failed to reach the collection of Php22billion in taxes. “Twenty two billion (pesos) shortfall is no joke so he should resign kasama na ang mga BOC officials na nagmaang-maangan sa mga nawawalang container vans,” Magsaysay said.
Quezon Rep. Danilo Suarez says that if the said missing cargos contain illegal drugs, it will be a big problem for the country.
Valenzuela City Rep. Magtanggol ‘Magi’ Gunigundo was confused why there were 76 container vans that went out from Batangas port last June even if the expose about the missing container vans started last May.
Gunigundo asks.
