Philippine authorities have seized a Philippine parrot which is considered to be among the rarest in the world in a bot suspected to be involved in illegal wildlife trading activities.
According to the Philippine Coastguard, the critically-endangered red-vented cockatoo, a foot-long (31cm) white parrot was seized in a boat in El Nido, Palawan.
The authorities are now in a pursuit against the owner of the cargo while the boat’s captain was fined for carrying prohibited cargos.
Seized with the parrot were 71 hill mynahs and 42 blue-naped parrots.
