Fighting rages in Libya as the rebel group denies talk with Moammar Gadhafi’s regime as Washington says that the strongman’s “days are numbered.”

Gadhafi forces fired a scud missile for the first time since the battle began which landed in a dessert, a U.S. defense official said. ”We think it was targeted at Brega,” but was overshot by about 80 kilometres, the official said.

“There are no negotiations or talks between the Gadhafi regime and the NTC in Tunisia or anywhere else,” said NTC vice chairman Abdel Hafiz Ghoga.

Gadafhi denied rumors that he fled the country and assured a victory against the rebels and NATO that he branded as colonizers. ”The end of the colonizer is close and the end of the rats is close. They (the rebels) flee from one house to another before the masses who are chasing them,” Gadhafi said.
