Former Optical Media Board (OMB) chairman and TV game show host Edu Manzano will be Defense Secratry Gilber Teodoro’s running mate in the upcoming 2010 elections.
The announcement was made earlier by Department of Interior and Local Government Secretary Ronnie Puno in a press conference in Shangri-La, Makati.
“The person who has accepted the challenge of standing beside Secretary Teodoro in the quest to become the next president of the Republic of the Philippines and the next vice-president of the Republic of the Philippines, no other than former OMB chairman Edu Manzano,” Puno announced.
Edu Manzano’s decision was a surprise since there were reports the other day that he is going to take oath as a part of Liberal Party’s senatorial line up.
Sec. Ronnie Puno said he suggested Manzano to Teodoro, citing the TV host’s capability as a public servant.
