Esmail “Toto” Mangudadatu, Vice-Mayor of Buluan, Maguindanao, speaks out to clarify political issues being pointed at him recently. Mangudadatu has explained that an effort by Lakas-Kampi-CMD standard bearer Gilberto “Gibo” Teodoro Jr. to deter him to run for governor against Gov. Andal Ampatuan Sr. in Maguindanao elections prior to the grim massacre of 57 persons last November 23 was not intended at removing him from the political picture but a “sincere advice from a friend” wanting to protect him from potential hostility from the controversial Ampatuan clan.

Every presidential candidate is urged to give his/her opinion about the RH (Reproductive Health) matter to further know where they stand on the two sides of the issue. Months ago, after declaring that he would continuously support certain RH bill stipulation, despite having a taste of the Church’s anger, Lakas-Kampi-CMD standard bearer Gilberto Teodoro Jr. stated that he is now recommending “moral choice” on the Reproductive Health issue. One of his reasons was to be able to please different sectors as well.

According to the presidential candidate, his decision to change his stance on House Bill 5043 or the RH bill was “a practical matter” since the debate on the measure “has created more division than harmony.”

Gilberto Teodoro Jr., the administration and Lakas-Kampi-CMD party’s standard bearer, urged the AFP authorities to file charges against military men liable in providing firearms to the Ampatuan clan. The Ampatuans, as we all know, are the alleged masterminds of the November 23 heinous massacre in Maguindanao.

“The military officers responsible for the unlawful diversion of the government firearms and ammunitions must be punished,” former secretary Gibo Teodoro told reporters Tuesday.
